Montreal priest Brian Boucher pleaded guilty in 2019 to two charges related to sexually assaulting a boy who was a member of his Catholic church. He was sentenced to eight years in jail.
Boucher served at various locations, including Montreal, LaSalle, Dorval, Town of Mount Royal and Senneville. He also served as chaplain at McGill University.
It is alleged that the Montreal archdiocese ignored repeated warning signs that suggested inappropriate conduct on Boucher’s part.

A renowned Mexican Catholic priest, Maciel was for many years well-respected in the church. He raised massive amounts of money, which he sent to the Vatican, and recruited numerous seminarians. Additionally, he founded two conservative movements, Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi.
Later in life, it came to light that he was allegedly a drug abuser, had intimate relations with at least two women, and sexually abused at least 60 boys. The Vatican condemned Maciel, saying his actions were “true crimes and manifest a life without scruples or authentic religious sentiment.”
Maciel died in Jacksonville Florida in 2008, and was buried in Mexico.
A 2019 internal church report released to the public confirmed Maciel’s abuse of minors.
Kurt DeWitt, a former Franciscan brother, has admitted to abusing a boy in New Jersey while serving as a coach, lead of the altar boys, and a bus driver at Holy Assumption Church in Roebling, New Jersey.
Accused of multiple sex offenses against minors who were inmates at a Edmonton correctional facility, Dominey had been placed on administrative leave in 2016. He died of cancer in 2019 while awaiting trial.
Wes Feltner is a former pastor of Berean Baptist Church. In 2019, two women came forward, asserting that he had engaged in spiritual, pastoral, and sexual abuse of them while serving as their youth pastor.
Feltner subsequently resigned, but allegedly did so without admitting culpability.
According to two women who came forward in 2019, former youth pastor Wes Feltner manipulated the two into sexual activity while the two were minors and members of the church youth group. The women further allege that when they first reported the abuse, the church’s first concern was to dismiss their claims and engage in cover-up to protect the church’s reputation, with Pastor Don Moore allegedly attempting to keep the matter secret.
Moore appears to have transferred to another church, and may now be employed by Creekside Baptist Church in New York.
In November 2019, Germantown Baptist was contacted by Jules Woodson, who was sexually abused as a minor by her former youth pastor, Andy Savage. Jules asked that the church rescind Andy’s ordination.
The church showed no concern for Jules, but instead responded by stating in writing, “No comment.”
Retired auxiliary bishop Raymond Goddert allegedly knew of multiple instances of sexual abuse by priests under his supervision, yet did not report these allegations to police. He remains in good standing with the church, and currently resides in the Archbishop’s mansion on Chicago’s Gold Coast, which some value at $15 million.
As of December 2019, Susan Goff is the ecclesiastical authority for the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. During her tenure, Goff has repeatedly ignored complaints about abusive conduct by the Rev. Robert H. Malm, including his efforts to drag a dying woman into court and his courtroom perjury. Apropos the latter, Goff issued a written decision via a diocesan intake officer stating that she would only address perjury if Malm were criminally charged. Thus differs from the standard applied in other cases of clergy abuse, in which the behavior may be illegal, but it is addressed any way.
Ronnie is the former pastor of the now-defunct Awakening Church, a Hillsong-style church in Atoka TN. He was accused of supplying alcohol, pornographic movies and initiating sex with young men staying at his home.

In 2018, Episcopal priest Gregory Lisby was suspended from ministry for an inappropriate, non-sexual relationship with an adult. Subsequently, the FBU raided the Worcester Massachusetts rectory Lisby shared with his husband and two daughters, discovering what they allege were more than 180 photos of child pornography and 15 videos. Lisby was taken into federal custody and as of December 2019 remains in prison as his case makes its way through the federal courts.
Meanwhile, Lisby’s name no longer appears in The Episcopal Church’s directory of clergy, suggesting he has resigned or been removed from holy orders.
