Spotlight on abuse: Episcopal dorm master Paul Wilson

In April 2019, Paul Wilson, a dorm master at St. Albans School at Washington National Cathedral from 2007 to 2015, pled guilty in Virginia to a single criminal count of interstate transportation of child pornography between Washington and Virginia. He was sentenced in July 2019 to six years in prison after admitting that he downloaded thousands of explicit and sadistic images of young girls while he was living as a resident advisor at the school. In January 2019, St. Albans sent a letter to parents about Wilson, which noted that as soon as the school learned, in July 2015, that Wilson was under investigation by law enforcement, he was immediately terminated and banned from the premises. The school cooperated with law enforcement and there was no evidence that Wilson’s conduct involved St. Albans students or students of any other National Cathedral schools. The FBI interviewed Wilson in the school’s chapel, where he admitted to downloading child porn on the dark web.
