Beware St. Thomas Fifth Avenue: The Groping Guru, aka Fr. Mark Schultz, continues to lurk

Want a great way to spot a toxic church? Perhaps the best way is when a church has actual knowledge that a priest has sexually assaulted a parishioner, yet the priest remains on staff.

And so it is at St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, where the Groping Guru, better known as Fr. Mark Schultz, continues to show up for services, despite having been arrested for sexual abuse of an adult male parishioner. Indeed, here’s a photo we bagged just recently, which shows Schultz, all puffed up and looking sanctimonious in vestments, despite his conduct.

Nor should we forget that Schultz is married to St. Thomas’ resident pornographer, Erich Erving. Together, they live in the Choir School Building, in chose proximity to male children.

So, adults and children alike, beware. St. Thomas may be a safe place for clergy who engage in sexual assault, but it’s not a safe place for you.
