This is not the first time that The Wartburg Watch has written about Peeping Toms. You can read about Rick Trotter at this post:
How Fellowship Memphis and Downtown Church Mishandled Rick Trotter’s Alleged Voyeurism
Further fallout from the Rick Trotter case occurred when SBC pastor J.D. Greear hired Bryan Loritts. Loritts was Rick Trotter’s brother-in-law and the co-founder and former lead pastor of Fellowship Memphis Church and he allegedly helped to coverup the criminal voyeurism by Trotter which took place at Fellowship Memphis. You can read more about it on the Patheos website in an article published on January 30, 2021 authored by Captain Cassidy. (Should the story below ever disappear, you can find it on The Wayback Machine.)
The Bryan Loritts Scandal Reveals The Principles Of Power
The following is a quote from the article:
Recently, I showed you the latest scandal hitting evangelicals. In this one, it turns out that J.D. Greear hired Bryan Loritts to work in his megachurch. Greear hired him knowing that his new sub-pastor had previously shielded a sex abuser: his creepy brother-in-law Rick Trotter. Now that the truth’s come out, Greear’s eating some crow over it. He’s trying to act like gosh, y’all, he jus’ didn’ REEEEEALIZE that this might be seen as baaaaaad! And his disavowal makes perfect sense. J.D. Greear and Bryan Loritts hold leadership roles in a completely broken system. That means they operate according the principles of power.”
Moving along to our recent subject, Jeremy Alcorn, an informational post to the members of All Saints Church in Durham, NC (ACNA, Diocese of Christ Our Hope) was published on the church website on July 25, 2025. I was made aware of the informational post shortly after it was published. Below is a screenshot of the post, which I saved to The Wayback Machine.
While I praise the church for the quick action they took on terminating Alcorn, notifying Law Enforcement, and being as transparent as possible with their church members, I wouldn’t have been so quick to reassure church members that no minors were involved. Perhaps they should have made it clear that in the evidence they were aware of, no minors were involved. I say this because I am doubtful that Alcorn’s recent voyeurism was his “first rodeo.” In the article written by Dee and linked at the top of this article, she wrote:
Voyeurism is a paraphilia.
A paraphilia is a condition in which a person’s sexual arousal and gratification depend on fantasizing about and engaging in sexual behavior that is atypical and extreme. A paraphilia can revolve around a particular object (children, animals, underwear) or around a particular act (inflicting pain, exposing oneself). Most paraphilias are far more common in men than in women. The focus of a paraphilia is usually very specific and unchanging.
A paraphilia is distinguished by a preoccupation with the object or behavior to the point of being dependent on that object or behavior for sexual gratification.
Paraphilias include sexual behaviors that society may view as distasteful, unusual or abnormal.
One type of paraphilia is voyeurism.
…voyeurism (observing private activities of unaware victims)
Unfortunately, the prognosis for many paraphilias is not great.
Paraphilias have been found to be quite chronic such that a minimum of two years of treatment is recommended for even the mildest paraphilia.
If Law Enforcement takes voyeurism seriously they should get a warrant to search all of Alcorn’s electronics, including any computers he may have had access to through the church. Based on the arrest warrant below I am not confident the Durham City Police take this crime seriously. Why do I say that? Because after Jeremy Alcorn turned himself in he was released on a mere $500 bond!
Note on the Warrant For Arrest that the date of the offense was July 20, 2025. This was a Sunday, so just like Rick Trotter, Alcorn was carrying out his crimes at his church. Again, kudos to All Saints Church staff for moving so quickly on this.
As you can see in the document below, Alcorn had been working for All Saints Church since 2014. I find it hard to believe that his first voyeuristic crime was committed on July 20, 2025.
Below is the announcement that Jeremy Alcorn was ordained to the Order of Priests on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Five months later he was terminated! You would think staff members that had been working with him for over 11 years would have noticed some type of character flaw, but apparently not.
