the Rev. Dr. Michael G. Langston, a graduate of Yale Divinity School, was a priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida removed from the priesthood in 2001 after a year-long investigation by North Carolina Bishop Michael Curry, later Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. Langston was accused of having sexual relations with a teenage girl while he was assistant rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, in Naples, Florida between 1991 and 1996. He then served at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Boynton Beach (West Palm Beach), where there were subsequent accusations of sexual misconduct. Langston was transferred finally to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Erwin, North Carolina in the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina where he continued to serve throughout 2000.
